iPhone 18 Pro puts more control into the camera system
Apple’s 2026 Pro phones pair A20 Pro with a 48MP Fusion Main camera that uses variable aperture, alongside a smaller Dynamic Island and a redesigned thermal system.
The main camera is the clearest conceptual change. A variable aperture can alter how much light reaches the sensor and change depth-of-field behavior, giving the camera system another physical control rather than relying entirely on computational processing.
Connectivity moves forward too
Apple says its N1 wireless system supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread. That combination is intended to improve high-speed local connections while keeping the phone connected to a growing range of smart-home devices.
A smaller island, more attention to heat
The company also highlights a smaller Dynamic Island and a next-generation vapor chamber. Thermal design matters because sustained camera, gaming and AI workloads can be limited by heat even when a processor is fast on paper.
